Enactment of the Amendment to the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice

On May 22, 2026, the amendment to the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice (Ley Orgánica del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia) was published in Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 7,025.

The most significant modification introduced by this amendment is the expansion of the Plenary Chamber from 20 to 32 Justices. Under this new structure, the Constitutional Chamber will comprise 7 Justices, while the Political-Administrative, Civil, Social, Criminal, and Electoral Chambers will each consist of 5 Justices.

Pursuant to its final provisions, this amendment comes into force immediately upon its publication in the Extraordinary Official Gazette.
